The primary challenge of the Indiana State Fair is the sheer volume of visual noise and the physical demand of a multi-week shoot. I had to navigate massive crowds and constantly shifting light conditions from the harsh afternoon sun to the glowing neon of the night Midway.
To overcome this I maintained a highly mobile gear setup and a disciplined shooting schedule that allowed me to be in the right place at the right time for the most "iconic" shots. I also had to ensure that the stories I chose to tell felt fresh each year while still honoring the deep-rooted traditions that Hoosiers expect to see. This required a constant balance of technical adaptability and creative foresight.

My work with the Indiana State Fair resulted in a robust visual archive that celebrates the best of our state. By focusing on high-quality photography and curated storytelling I provided the fair with a professional record that resonates with the local community and beyond.
Working with the best team in the state to bring this project to life is a highlight of my annual production cycle. I delivered a body of work that doesn't just show what happened at the fair but captures exactly how it felt to be there.
Next projects.
