The mission was to provide a 360-degree creative ecosystem in an environment that moves at 60mph. I operated as a lead documentarian, balancing high-end aesthetics with the logistical chaos of a global event.
Visual Documentation: Delivered a mix of 70% polish and 30% grit in final imagery. Using a Sony 200-600mm, I captured the "Future Gold" moments—like Scotty James’ historic back-to-back 1440s—while intentionally keeping the raw, unscripted edges of the athletes’ struggle in the final cut. Athlete Narratives & PR: Moved beyond standard sideline reporting to act as a genuine partner in storytelling. Conducted deep-dive interviews and PR coverage for legends like Chloe Kim and Nick Goepper, focusing on the "truth of the pursuit" rather than just the podium result. The Future Gold showcases the small moments on and off the slopes, showing the true personality of the athletes. Social & Digital Strategy: Managed real-time content threads that felt like a glossy magazine feed. I bridged the gap between high-fashion editorial (inspired by Flaunt or The New Yorker) and the high-octane energy of the slopes. Logistical Command: Navigated a "Murphy’s Law" travel schedule from Indianapolis to LA to Aspen, proving that Future Gold is a nomadic agency capable of producing tier-1 work regardless of the zip code or the sub-zero temperatures.

The X Games are a cultural fever dream, and being a small part of that energy was a reset for my craft. I left Aspen with a notebook full of scribbles, a missing lens hood, and a renewed conviction: you can’t fake a triple cork, and you can’t fake authentic storytelling. Whether I'm documenting a fellow Hoosier like Nick Goepper taking gold or the "punk rock" energy of the Knuckle Huck, my goal remains the same: to build a visual archive that holds its weight long after the snow melts.
I’ll be back. Hopefully with a smoother flight next time.
Next projects.
