NECRY TALKIE Unleashes "Mob Narino Kung Fu" EP and Action-Packed Music Video

Japanese rock band NECRY TALKIE (ネクライトーキー) has marked their major debut 5th anniversary with the release of their second EP, "Mob Narino Kung Fu" (モブなりのカンフー), on March 26th. Alongside the EP's digital release, the band premiered the music video for the title track on their official YouTube channel. Watch Here…

Directed by Kato Mani, known for his extensive work on numerous music videos, "Mob Narino Kung Fu" marks NECRY TALKIE's first foray into an "action" themed music video. The visual narrative unfolds with the band's vocalist and guitarist, Mossa (もっさ), engaging in hand-to-hand combat against thugs, while other members attempt to flee, pursued by police officers. True to the band's reputation for quirky and unpredictable creativity, the music video promises a unique storyline that matches the unconventional title of the song, leaving viewers to anticipate its resolution. The collaboration between NECRY TALKIE and Kato Mani is a first for the band.

Adding to the anniversary celebrations, NECRY TALKIE announced that a limited-edition CD version of the "Mob Narino Kung Fu" EP will be available for purchase exclusively at the venues of their upcoming national one-man tour, "Go Go Talkies! 2025 Hokujo" (ゴーゴートーキーズ!2025 北上), starting in May. This announcement was made during a recent YouTube live stream. The CD artwork, consistent with their previous releases, is designed by Mossa and will feature a matte-textured paper jacket. Given its limited production, fans eager to own a physical copy are encouraged to attend the tour dates.

Furthermore, as the third installment of their five major anniversary announcements, NECRY TALKIE will launch their own independent radio program titled "NECRY TALKIE no Nekuraji!" (ネクライトーキーのネクラジ!). This radio-style talk show will be a fully self-produced endeavor, with NECRY TALKIE's members taking on roles as directors, scriptwriters, engineers, personalities, and even guests. The program promises to offer behind-the-scenes insights and discussions related to their 5th-anniversary year and other topics. Hosted by the fictional radio station "NT818 NEC5 (Neck Five)," "NECRY TALKIE no Nekuraji!" will be broadcast on NECRY TALKIE's YouTube channel and other platforms throughout their anniversary year, starting in April.

The "Mob Narino Kung Fu" EP features four tracks: the title track, "Souiu Mono Deshou?" (そういうものでしょう?), "Taida de Ii Na" (怠惰でいいナ), and "Jinsei Nanimo Wakannee!" (人生なんにもわかんねえ!). Notably, "Jinsei Nanimo Wakannee!" serves as the theme song for the real escape game "Trouble Darake no Live House kara no Dasshutsu" (トラブルだらけのライブハウスからの脱出). The EP showcases the band's dynamic range, from the energetic and chaotic title track, which updates their signature sound, to the Mossa-penned "Taida de Ii Na," a song that embraces a sense of laid-back acceptance and adult melancholy, offering a quick and comprehensive introduction to NECRY TALKIE's musical identity.

NECRY TALKIE's "Go Go Talkies! 2025 Hokujo" tour will take them across 12 venues from south to north in Japan, commencing on May 10th in Kumamoto and concluding on July 6th in Sapporo, Hokkaido. The tour includes stops in Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, two dates in Tokyo (Shimokitazawa SHELTER and Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO), Saitama, and Sendai.
