Hello Again, Metric, I Knew You When!!!
Let's be honest, there's a special kind of feeling that comes with nostalgia. Admitting to yourself your emotions when you used to blast an album on repeat in your college blue Chevy to the point of near nausea for your unsuspecting passengers. For me, that album was Metric's Fantasies. Fast forward a decade (and a much nicer car, thank goodness), and there I was at the Vogue in Indy, reliving my glory days – well, the good parts of it at least – at a Metric concert.
Let me tell you, nostalgia hit hard. Metric didn't hold back, launching into a killer setlist that spanned their career, (seriously, wish I could had seen them before my the lower back pains set in) From the opening blast of "Cascades" to the closer, an electrifying "Nothing Is Perfect," the entire venue pulsed with an energy that transcended age (though, let's be real, it skewed towards those of us who can remember rocking out to Synthetica in, ahem, a different era and way before Covid.
Metric at the Vogue: A Photographer's Dream
Now, as a concert photographer in Indianapolis, I gotta say – Metric put on one heck of a show visually. Emily Haines' stage presence is captivating, owning every inch of the stage with fierce energy and undeniable charisma. The rest of the band wasn't there to be wallflowers either, moving with a contagious intensity that made capturing the raw emotion a photographer's dream. Seriously, folks, if you get the chance to see Metric live, do it. Your inner self will thank you.

Metric + Indianapolis = A Match Made in Indie (Indy) Heaven
So, there you have it. Metric at the Vogue – a night of reliving college memories, singalongs at the top of our lungs (because, let's face it, who doesn't know the lyrics to "Black Sheep" by heart?), and capturing some seriously epic photos. If you're looking for a band that brings the energy, both sonically and visually, then look no further than Metric. And hey, if you're ever in Indianapolis and need a concert photographer who gets down to good indie rock, well, you know where to find me.
